Teeth & Gum Cleaning Stick

Miswak – a stick used for cleaning teeth and gums. Miswak is the root of the Arak tree (Salvadora Persica), also known as the toothbrush tree. It combines the properties of both a toothbrush and toothpaste.

In Arab countries, it has been used for natural teeth cleaning for millennia, making it the oldest form of a toothbrush. The wood naturally contains fluorides, tannins, saponins, vitamin C, flavonoids, silica, calcium, and potassium.

The stick is approximately 16 cm long.

Rinse the stick under running water. Remove the bark from the stick to a thickness of about 1 cm. Make cuts at the tip that resemble the bristles of a toothbrush, or chew the end until you can use the stick as a brush. Now you can start brushing your teeth.

Brush each tooth individually, applying gentle pressure and avoiding excessive irritation of the gums. Use the tip of your tongue to check if your teeth are smooth and clean. Spit out any broken wood fibers. Allow the stick to dry after use.

If the cleaning effect weakens, shorten the miswak and chew it again.
